My take on the Pokémon Sword/Shield Pokédex, spoilers

I was expecting 180-200 Pokémon. 400 is still a lot. Pokédex completion is not something fun to do, it's long and grindy. I know it, I have a 721 Pokédex on Alpha Sapphire and my Pokémon Bank few is complete. I did this SOLELY FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS

And imo, a complete 400 Pokémon dex is still something you can brag about.

@Siphonay if the game had only 1 pokémon but it was scolipede, it would be good

if the game had 2000 pokémon total but no scolipede, it would be bad

everything is relative

re: My take on the Pokémon Sword/Shield Pokédex, spoilers

@Siphonay 400 pokémons is more than any of the first three generations of games. Among those games, I only completed the pokedex of Crystal (at 249, lacking only the two fabulous :mew: and :celebi:).

Also, 400 is near the record of 450 of X&Y for a regional pokédex (in which the regional pokédex was split in 3 parts).

The main complain is that you may not be able to play with your favorites, but I note that it was also the case in the first months of Ruby&Sapphire, X&Y and Sun&Moon, as there was no way to transfer your older pokémons in the new games. In Diamond&Pearl and Black&White, transfer is only available in the post-game. In FireRed&LeafGreen, you need to get 60 pokémons in the pokédex and beat the game to get non-gen I pokémons.
