PokéAPI still hasn’t be updated to include Gen 8 Pokémon, I think I’ll have to find another way to enable @potd_bot to be able to roll them

Hey I made a pack that’s ready to import into Mastodon of every single Pokémon icon to date (Pokémon Sword & Shield DLCs) straight for the game, if you want to use it, it’s there:

I don’t own the copyright for that material but I still put work into compiling them and making them into suitable sizes so they don’t look too bad, so it would be nice if you gave me credit for that if you use them

I just added emojis all the new forms and Pokémon from the Sword and Shield DLCs! :slowking_galar:

Pokemon Sword/Shield, Trade and Tradeback requests :boost_ok:

I just need a Bagon for trade

For Tradebacks, I just need Regieleki and Glastrier.

Please help me complete the Crown Tundra Pokedex.

And like people list its numerous glitches as a downside but legit some of my fondest memories with these games are of fucking around with them and breaking the games in various ways

I love Gen 1 and all of its quirks and I won't hide it's all for the nostalgia. Of course that game is rough around the edges as fuck. That's why I love it

@hi_cial you’re maybe already aware of it but I though you might find interesting that the very first Mewtwo card released in French renamed it to "Deuxmiaou" (even though it’s still Mewtwo in French everywhere else), that might be a neat thing you could look for!

I wonder if there are any Pokémon-themed shogi sets or products. I can't find anything in English about it, at least

They should release Pokémon in Portuguese imo

History of language availability in mainline Pokémon games.

Gen 1 initially released in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian & Spanish. The latter two used English Pokémon names.

The first additional language was Korean, with a Gold and Silver release in it. Crystal wasn’t released in Korean, nor were the Gen 3 games. Korean returned in Gen 4.

Gen 7 added support for Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

Gen 5 added a a selection between Japanese with and without Kanjis. Previously, Kanjis weren’t used in the games.

Prior to Gen 6, game cartridges came with a single language included, meaning one edition of the games per language. From Gen 6 and onwards, all available languages are included in the cart or digital download, and the game language must be selected when creating a save file.
