Circus peanuts that burned from the vodka. I didn't hate it. The liquid itself tasted almost like a marshmallow vodka. MDMRN<p>Well, it's been a week since I added the Werther's Originals to vodka. And what was the result??</p><p>It's caramel. It's alcoholic caramel. Like, that's all you can taste. A ton of caramel. MDMRN<p>Hey folks - I'm putting circus peanuts and Werther's Originals in separate containers of vodka for a week...</p><p>...Or until something interesting happens.</p><p>I set these up on Saturday, so will check back this Saturday.</p><p>For the record, my wife has already checked in on the Werther's in vodka and has given it a big seal of approval. MDMRN<p>In my further attempts at moving my pics from Pixelfed to Mastodon, here's some Mike's Hard Freezes.</p><p>I tried all four varieties at this point, so let's break them down and why they're all pretty mid. </p><p>Red Freeze - Imagine one of those red ice pops and then add in cranberry for no reason. </p><p>White Freeze - You know orange creamsicles? MDMRNI picked up a case of the new (to me) Mike's Hard Freeze drinks and tried a couple of them this weekend.<br>
<br>
First, Mike's Hard Red Freeze. The taste? Imagine one of those red ice pops and then add in cranberry for no reason at all. That's about what this tastes like. It's...odd.<br>
<br>
Second. Mike's Hard White Freeze. You know orange cream bars? Imagine a lemonade cream bar with too much vanilla flavoring. That's what this tastes like. The vanilla and lemonade flavors combined don't work super well, in my opinion.<br>

There's two more flavors in the case, which I'll try, but I would not get these again.<br>

MDMRNThis weekend I had soju for the first time. My brother-in-law got me a bottle of Jinro Soju, specifically their strawberry variety.<br>
<br>
Let's say a few things. It was delicious. It went down smooth, despite having a similar taste to vodka. I drank the entire bottle solo straight and was feeling very relaxed afterwards.<br>
<br>
10/10 would do again. Looking forward to getting myself more.<br>

MDMRNAnother Hard Mountain Dew I tried from my variety pack. This time, it's Watermelon.<br>

Verdict: It's okay. It tastes like artificial watermelon soda. No traditional Dew flavor, that I picked up. It's not bad, it's just not exactly my thing. <br>

Once again, prefer regular Hard Mountain Dew more.<br>

MDMRNHard Mountain Dew has come to Maryland!<br>

I picked up a variety pack and had to try Livewire first. Livewire used to be my favorite Mountain Dew variant. However, post getting COVID my taste buds changed enough that I didn't like it as I used to. This is no different. If you've tried Mountain Dew Livewire and love it, you'll like this. Cause it largely tastes the same.<br>

If you, like me, had a wild taste bud shift post getting COVID, then you may not like it as much.<br>
<br>
Anyway, I enjoyed it. Prefer regular Hard Mountain Dew more.<br>

Adding to the list of those I have tried before, we get Pink Poison, Killer Sunrise, and Gnarly Grape. Let's go through them again, one by one.<br>

Pink Poison - It's Pink Lemonade Monster. That's not a complaint, it's a smooth, tasty flavor.<br>
<br>
Killer Sunrise - Citrus Punch, basically. Kind of an orangish-lemonadeish flavor to it overall, which I really enjoyed.<br>
<br>
Gnarly Grape - Fake Grape. That's the flavor. Artificial Grape. If you like Grape Soda and things like that, you may like this. If not, hard pass.<br>
<br>
With these three new ones added in, here's my new definitive favorites list:<br>

Well it's been a week, so let's see if these crawlers are electric!<br>

The gummy worms puffed up, a lot. They absorbed a ton of the vodka and when I ate them...they tasted like burning as they melted the moment they entered my mouth. It was not great.<br>
<br>
The shot of the infusion? It tasted medicinal. Just oh so bad. The mixture was such a huge mistake.<br>
<br>

MDMRNSo, last week I reported on the "Beast Unleashed" Monster Energy flavored hard beverage "White Haze." <br>

Well, this weekend I tried all three of the other flavors: Mean Green, Scary Berries, and Peach Perfect.<br>
<br>
My opinions?<br>
<br>
Mean Green tastes like classic Monster. If you like that, you'll like this.<br>
<br>
Perfect Peach is decent. It tastes like artificial peach flavoring with that Monster flavor you see throughout their drinks. Still good.<br>
<br>
Scary Berries I liked a lot. I can't tell exactly what berry it's going for, but it has a generic berry flavor that is tasty.<br>
<br>
Overall, enjoyed the case. Liked each flavor. Would drink again. <br>

As I previously posted, last weekend I put an entire bag of Skittles into orange vodka. One week later, I tried it. <br>
<br>
First, there was not a single Skittle remaining. It largely dissolved with some floating sugar in the vodka.<br>
<br>
Second - it tasted like Skittles. Somehow every Skittle flavor at once. The Skittles flavor overpowered everything. It was...actually, I liked it a lot. Very surprised.<br>
<br>
I mixed it with some Diet Mountain Dew after and, once again, all I tasted with Skittles.<br>
<br>
So, if you like Skittles, worth trying.<br>

MDMRNI was at the liquor store the other day picking up, honestly, more vodka to try some odd candy + vodka mixtures when I happened to notice a case of Monster "The Beast Unleashed."<br>

Each can was a different flavor of Monster Energy Drinks, in alcoholic form with 6.0% alcohol. Also, of note, no caffeine. <br>

So, I picked up a full case.<br>

First one to try? White Haze. As someone who really enjoys the white Monster Energy Zero Ultra, I was wondering what this one would taste like. The answer? Like that. It tasted like Monster Energy Zero Ultra...<br>

That's it. <br>

Immediately upon shaking, the vodka turned that orangish-brown color and the Skittles started to lose their color. <br>

MDMRNSo, over the weekend I was in Pennsylvania with the family at an amusement park. That's when I noticed that Hard Mountain Dew was available in PA, but not in my home state of Maryland.<br>
<br>
So, I picked myself up a 20 ounce can of Hard Mountain Dew and one of Hard Baja Blast to try out. Let me tell you...it certainly is Hard Mountain Dew.<br>
<br>
No, seriously. It tastes like Mountain Dew with a slight alcohol flavor and a bit of that malt beverage aftertaste you get from a Mike's Hard Lemonade or a Smirnoff Ice. The Baja Blast, specifically, tasted even more just like a Baja Blast and had less of an aftertaste than the original Hard Mountain Dew.<br>
<br>
Overall, I liked them. Do plan to get again next time I travel through PA.<br>

MDMRNWell, it's been a week and I look at the mixture and have to say - what Lemonheads?<br>

As I posted last week, I put Lemonhead candies in Smirnoff Pink Lemonade vodka and let it sit. One week later - the Lemonhead candies completely dissolved! So, no candy to try.<br>
<br>
How was the shot? It tasted like lemonade. Period. A slight burn, but basically just tasted like straight up lemonade. Barely tasted alcoholic at all. 10 out of 10, WILL do again.<br>
<br>
Mixing this into any lemonade it only enhances the lemonade flavor and, again, doesn't taste alcoholic. Which is a little dangerous, but tastes so good. The mixture was finished off the night we opened it as everyone around wanted a taste.<br>

MDMRNThis past weekend, I decided to put Lemonheads in Smirnoff Pink Lemonade Vodka for a week, or until something interesting happens...he once again said channeling his inner Ryan Doka.<br>

After the last time with the Sour Patch Kids, I wanted to do another one of these mixtures again. Almost immediately as I added the Pink Lemonade Vodka, which is pink by the way, to the Lemonheads candy, it turned orange. <br>
<br>
We jarred this on Saturday, so I will be back with a report on the results next week. But, it's looking very interesting so far!<br>

MDMRNWell, it's been a week and I think it's time we enter the Sour Patch.<br>

As I said on Sunday, I jarred Sour Patch Kids Snapple Fruit Flavor Mix in orange vodka last Sunday. Sunday night I opened it up and tried the concoction. The verdict?<br>
<br>
First, the surviving gummies. They tasted like flavorless burning. That's about it.<br>
<br>
Next, the infused vodka. Imagine orange vodka. Now add in a huge punch of additional citrus and pineapple. It worked and worked well. There was no undertone of sour at all, the malic acid somehow just enhanced everything after a week. 8 out of 10. Would do again.<br>
<br>
Also, it tasted delicious mixed into a drink...<br>
