Is there anybody here who'll be in Ikebukuro around March 15 to 23? They're holding Anime Tokyo Night, a projection mapping event, at Naka Ikebukuro Park starting at 6:00 p.m. on those dates.

@mdmrn@urusai.social @mdmrn@pixtagram.social Right now I've been reading DanDaDan.
If I don't know what exactly to read I usually switch between: HunterXHunter, The Seven Deadly Sins, and Saint Young Men, depending on my mood.
The last manga series I finished to completion was Demon Slayer!
For tonight's Quarantine Control on @damagecontrolblog, I wrote about season 1 of Dandadan. @Dio_Senrab wrote about Marvel's What If?, and CWTyger wrote why QC will be around for quite a while. Check us out!

I've been sitting on a brief essay on #Dandadan that I really should post at some point.
Still have a big backlog of #3dPrinting projects that need finishing. Two of those are a figurine of Jane Doe from #ZenlessZoneZero and of Momo Ayase from #Dandadan. At least both of them are primed now. #figurines
Finished anime: DanDaDan s1
There’s honestly no way this could have failed, I love the manga since the first chapter and it got a great studio working on it.
Okarun and Momo are just a refreshing combo, and then there’s all those crazy ideas for aliens and evil spirits that are appropriately creepy.
The anime also found some great ways to set the scene, the choice of animation, lighting (light colors) and some other creative depictions made this extremely satisfying to watch.
This is your reminder to watch the Jump Festa 2025 stage events while they’re still available to stream on the official Jump YouTube channel (ends December 31). I watched the ones for Spy x Family, Gintama, and DanDaDan (except that one had a spoiler for anime-only me so tread carefully!)
Fun coincidence: Day 1 Blue stage has 3 consecutive appearances of Sugita Tomokazu (the last one a voice cameo)

One of the reasons I feel so attached to Dandadan is that it has genuine references to traditional Japanese occultism, Shinto, Buddhism, etc. Even Momo's psychic powers are loosely based on concepts of energy or "chi" (or "ki" technically bc it's Japan) practiced in many cultures. Obviously it's a shonen manga, so it's exaggerated. But I myself am becoming interested in the history of occultism and I think that blend of real Japanese traditions and legends with the action manga vibe is a cool combo.
I uh, boy I'm not liking that season cliffhanger for DanDaDan. Not gonna spoil anything, but I'm tired of a certain motif repeating in this series for what seems to be major moments.
