tarot bird<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://octodon.social/@apLundell" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>apLundell</span></a></span> My theory is that the original plan for the movie involved the octopus attacking more people on the shore, but then they had to scrap that after the octopus puppet sank. It might explain why they set up all these non-oceangoing characters and then dropped them partway through.</p><p><a href="https://octodon.social/tags/monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monsterdon</span></a> <a href="https://octodon.social/tags/tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tentacles1977</span></a></p>
Floaty Birb<p>In conclusion, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tentacles1977</span></a> was weird, and now I want to watch an aquatic version of the X-Philes that centers on the mysteries of the sea and relies on whales to resolve most of the story problems.</p><p>Anyway, thanks to <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://octodon.social/@Taweret" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Taweret</span></a></span> for hosting another <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monsterdon</span></a> !</p>

Floaty Birb<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Monsterdon</span></a> I am completely confused how to rate <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tentacles1977</span></a>.</p><p>On the one hand, it was mostly boring, but on the other hand, it was super weird. I want to give it 5/5 octopies for having toy boats, a surprise orca thruple, a whale based resolution, a giant hat, and heeding the call of the sea. But I guess instead I'll give it only 3/5 octopies because it was kind of bad, but not so bad that the weirdness didn't kind of redeem it?</p>
Floaty Birb<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monsterdon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tentacles1977</span></a> in a victory for the forces of mammaldom, the evil octopus sinks back into the sea after being bitten a lot.</p><p>On the surface, the human sailboat guys are like "lets go on a safari because that's a dumb idea", but then their Orca buddies decide to follow them and whistle as they fuck off into the sunset.</p>

But not like, Chopping Mall good, just like... so weird its kind of just barely good.</p>
Floaty Birb<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tentacles1977</span></a> Perhaps the strangest <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monsterdon</span></a> fight scene, as the Octopus tries to escape into a cave, but can't because an Orca keeps biting it and chasing it into the hole. It responds to getting eaten by screaming.</p><p>Meanwhile the two humans ascend, one guy carrying the other guy (who lost his breath mask) to safety.</p>
Floaty Birb<p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Monsterdon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tentacles1977</span></a> After swimming around the coral reef, our human characters are ambushed by an avalanche, and then we see a giant octopus being bludgeoned by our Orca Allies! For they did not fuck into the sea for good, but rather fucked into the sea temporarily, to deal a surprise nose battering attack on our Octopodal Enemy!</p><p>At least I think that's what's happening... its really blurry so I can't quite tell what is going on. Anyway, the epic fight music is turned up to 42.</p>
starkraving666<p>I want to see a movie about the procurement and downfall of the million dollar octopus model that they had to scrap <a href="https://jorts.horse/tags/monsterdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>monsterdon</span></a> <a href="https://jorts.horse/tags/Tentacles1977" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tentacles1977</span></a></p>

I give this coral reef 8/10; seems like a cool place.</p>

Which I guess diving suits are just ocean armor. They have knives and harpoon guns to fight the octopus with, which is probably not the worst choice.</p>

We observe our killer whale pals fucking off into the sea, which i guess I can't blame them.</p>

Curly Hair Guy is on the sailboat, with the grim resolve to vanquish the evil Octopus.</p><p>This movie decides that the plural of Octopus is "Octopi", instead of "Octopuses", "Octopodes", "Octopussies" or any of the other equally acceptable alternatives (according to me).</p><p>Anyway, we have an existential discussion about how Cephalopods thirst for blood.</p>

A larger boat that rescued some of the yacht racers pulls into port, followed by a police boat, and everyone scrambles to search for their relations; at last she finds her kid but not his friend.</p>
