If you missed it earlier today, I have a new track out. It is a hardcore track with heavy trancecore elements. Check it out and consider picking it up for Bandcamp Friday.
@patamystic @edyother It's truly my pleasure. I was just chatting with my comrade @benda last night about the importance of supporting indie & especially now fediverse artists.
It's imperative that we create and celebrate our own culture and not what the corpos slam down our throats. More now than ever.

#BandcampFriday haul!
Burial/Kode9 split - Phoneglow/Eyes Go Blank
https://kode9.bandcamp.com/album/phoneglow-eyes-go-blank
Two very different tracks from there two London-based electronic artists. Both are absolute monsters.
Erang - The Kingdom Is Ours
https://erang.bandcamp.com/album/the-kingdom-is-ours
Straight up dungeon synth, the good stuff, and that's a hell of guest artist list. A lot of obvious reflection on the genre and where it's going has gone into this.
Dark Jazz Cafe Assembly - Où Jazz Est Morte
https://darkjazzcafe.bandcamp.com/album/o-jazz-est-morte
Like the Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, Bohren & der Club of Gore and Lovecraft Sextet? This Russian outfit are doing some lovely things with the genre.
And everything by our very own Dace Merryweather (@Dace)

Just a reminder, today is #BandCampFriday . When Bandcamp forgoes it's commission. Its a good day to support musicians on the platform, since they get a bit more out of each sale.
I just got an email that someone bought the EP I released like 8 years ago on Bandcamp.
Seems to be a stranger. And I haven't done anything to promote this music in years.
It's a bandcamp Friday miracle!
There's a bunch of better music out there made by artists who need the money more.
But it's a nice confidence boost I haven't had in a while!
Check out https://setlers.bandcamp.com/album/katana-ep , I'll buy two albums for every purchase!
Bandcamp music fan Betty Howls from Ontario has 7 albums in common with me
This is one of her recent purchases

Surf garage punk from Ontario, Canada
Re-upping this #neocities post for #BandcampFriday - My Favorite Music From 2024
https://rootcompute.neocities.org/reviews/2024music
If you have anything else in a similar vein to recommend, feel free to send it my way! I am always on the lookout for quality instrumental/mostly non-vocal music in the following genres: downtempo, atmospheric DnB, smooth jazz, jazz fusion, math rock, indie rock, metal, progressive trance, chill house/techno, chiptune
A mischievous track for guitars, basses, and piano.
Guitar: Epiphone SG
Bass: Ibanez TRB100-BK
Guitars and basses played by me. No effect whatsoever.

Since it's the first #BandcampFriday of the year, might as well ask something...
What's the status on if there's a #FediVision happening this year?
ok let me be more explicit on my sudden hatred of #bandcampfriday
It's not the first time we got this e-mail (attached to my message) from Bandcamp. Here, for me, I just read "Capitalize on your shit, engage engage engage engage, sell stuff".
I fucking hate that. Yiipee it's a bit more money on our sells, yay... But it just feels like this is the only thing they tried to save with the Songtradr buyout and they really are turning it into a capitalist machine. Bandcamp Friday lost its soul of helping audio creatives, first Bandcamp Fridays were created in Covid period, helped to fundraise union against police brutality when George Floyd was murdered by the police. There was a purpose, there was a team behind it, making it happen and feeling alive, like it was the aim for a progressist music platform to do such things like that.
I feel like the move here was like Songtradr saw how people looove #bandcampfriday because fans can support their fav audio creatives so they kept it alive so we, as customers, won't be bothered anymore by the massive layoff that happen during the buyout "because Bandcamp keeps doing good stuff for artists and fans, you know".
And this is fucking sad.
So now I hate Bandcamp Friday.
It is #BandcampFriday to be sure. And do support artists there.
But here's a reminder that it is *always* #BandcampFriday on #faircamp where you pay the artist directly every day. See the faircamp webring for artists and labels
