@revndm #RiffRaff um, wow. That was a wild ride. Sort of a Royal Tenenbaums repressed family vibe, but unlike that, this has enough comic relief to keep it from getting annoying. Jennifer Coolidge is perfectly wacky and pathetic, Bill Murray is at his checked-out, nihilistic best, and then the tension all just descends into murderous violence.
I'm not sure what I just saw but it was extremely entertaining.

@revndm How did a movie with Bill Murray and Pete Davidson and Ed Harris and JENNIFER FUCKING COOLIDGE come out last week and nobody knew about it? I never even saw a trailer until we were sitting here at Showcase going hmm, what are these other new movies out?
I mean Starz/Lionsgate you really dropped the promo ball on this one.

I was hoping to finally give this series a try before 28 Years Later is released, but it’s not available on any of the streaming services I use.
I hope this changes soon. It’s time to scare myself silly with fictional frights in 2025 if I can.

Day 8 of #31daysofhalloween is great little sci fi horror Pitch Black. Vin Deisel has never been cooler and the atmosphere is great. The swarming nature of the monsters and fleeting glimpses mean the dated effects don't really detract. Damn unlucky to crash on a planet the one time in 22 years the critters come out though.

What a creepy film! Kudos to Oz Perkins for making what could be absurd unnerving as hell. The cinematography/scene framing really enhanced the eeriness. So many deliberate choices, including that ambiguity; I immediately want to rewatch. I'm pondering, & will for a while...

The second movie was #Foe with Saiorse Ronan. Frankly, I kept waiting for something to happen. At the 59 minute mark, when nothing had happened to get me emotionally invested with the characters, I paused and went looking for a synopsis.
The amount of story they had, they could've wrapped that up in 30 minutes. No reason to stretch it nearly 2 hours. *yawn*
I haven't seen #StarshipTroopers since before it earned cult status, so I'ma try that next.
