I'm looking for an alternative to #GoogleMaps for #navigation.
Required:
- Can search destination/origin by business name (or other features, like a trail name), not only by address.
- Allows downloading maps for offline usage.
- Accounts for live traffic (if online).
- No data harvesting. Otherwise I would just stay with GMaps.
- Android Auto.
Nice to have:
- Signal what's the most fuel/energy efficient route.
I'm fine with it being a paid service or being closed source.
Google Maps is currently displaying at least some Canadian provincial park names, to some visitors, as "<X> State Park", which is pretty bloody offensive in the current climate.
It may be only displaying them if it thinks you're not in Canada (such as you're on a VPN) which would make this worse, because then it clearly wouldn't be just a mistake.

Google Maps is identifying Provincial parks in BC and Alberta as "state parks" in the subtext. As opposed to "National" or "City" parks. Is this new? I certainly have not noticed before and have looked at a few BC and Alberta provincial parks in the past.
If you're looking for a googlemaps replacement, try out Lokjo. They're non-corporate, non-comercial, focus on local shops and are fully european.

Hilarious. Google intentionally misnamed a body of water in their maps. They were then bombarded with error reports, so they turned off that feature.
