Last night's total lunar eclipse.

A composite image of four frames of the eclipse progress. Left is about 75% eclipsed, with a shine over a good part of the moon still. Top is probably about 85% eclipsed, still top edge shinning. Right is almost totality, with just a sliver showing of light. Bottom is during peak total eclipse and there is no more bright edge. In the middle of the image it says 13 March 2025, total lunar eclipse. As the moon approaches totality it gets more and more red in tone in the eclipsed parts.

A photo of the lunar eclipse. Sunlight from behind the earth filters through the planet’s atmosphere and paints the moon red. The alignment of the eclipsed has gone past totality which leaves a crescent of the moon unfiltered and bright white. Clouds make motion streaks around the moon from the long exposure times of the photographs.

Taken a couple of hours ago. The lunar eclipse over Tennyson Down.

A coastal road, a calm sea, a chalk headland. The moon is disappearing in the first light of day. A partial eclipse is visible. Not a car or person is in the shot.

The two best pictures I could get of the #LunarEclipse! It was hard getting a good view, darn light pollution, but I'm glad I stayed up to see it!

And there it is! A total lunar eclipse from Baltimore, Maryland.

If you were standing on the near side of the Moon right now, you would see the Earth eclipsing the Sun, and see all of the sunsets and sunrises on Earth simultaneously.
