I’m at a loss on this personal project. Anyone familiar with using modprobe g_multi to have a raspberry Pi present itself as a usb storage device?

It works fine when running it via terminal, but running the same command from a python script has it show as unallocated space in windows. Both using sudo. Dismounting works no matter what.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I made this because it reflects my latest experience of doing selfhosted stuff. Still new to all this and my system was running for around 10-11 months without any incidents. A fried SD card is definitely not what I expected to bring down everything

Mac 512Ke on the LCD, Mac Plus, Linux Mint laptop with a VNC session to my QEMU Quandra 800 on a RaspberryPi 5 and Basilik II running locally.

512Ke and Plus are connected via LocalTalk to a RaspberryPi 3 running a TashTalk 2 HAT and jrouter.

Finally made progress on my #globaltalk setup and have my Macintosh 512Ke connecting over LocalTalk and can see all GlobalTalk Zones!

Issue I was running into was trying to run too much on the same RaspberryPi 5, and moved jrouter and tashrouter to a separate RaspberryPi 3 so they share the same br0 interface. Turning off atalkd/netatalk on the RPI5 seemed to help too.

Oddly my QEMU VM and Basilik II VMs are able to see GlobalTalk zones too, but the 512Ke can't see them. I think it might have to do with the VMs in network 1970-1971 and TashTalk using 71 and 72.

Next up is getting everything to see each other properly and try to get netatalk working for a headless share again.

Loaded log2ram in an attempt to minimize writes to card, so I don't have to keep doing this.

I MUST NOT WRITE. WRITES ARE THE SD-CARD-KILLER. WRITES ARE THE LITTLE-DEATH THAT BRINGS TOTAL CARD OBLITERATION. I WILL CACHE MY WRITES. I WILL PERMIT WRITES TO REMAIN IN MEMORY AND THROUGH ME. AND WHEN THE DATA HAS GONE PAST I WILL FLUSH THE DATA INTO THE ETHER. WHERE THE WRITES HAVE GONE THERE WILL BE NOTHING. ONLY STATIC DATA WILL REMAIN.
