Pegaso SOLO 500 Concept Truck, 1989. Pegaso only made cars for a short time but they were a much more successful truck and bus maker. After the recently featured smaller MG ZR and MG ZS, here, to complete the set is the Rover 75-based MG ZT. The 75/ZT isn’t itself part of the small Triumphs and Rovers branch of the BL family tree covered in this sequence of posts but it does, as I shall explain, become relevant to the story later on. The ZT was also available in ZT-T estate form. I captured this lovely ZT saloon/sedan at the NEC Classic Car Show in 2023.

Wrenching today turned into a good news/bad news situation. Good news: I'm getting my money's worth out of my QuickJacks. Better news: I fixed my transmission! Replaced the solenoids, filter, and fluid, plus the plastic bits circled in the photo, which are a common failure point. These were almost certainly original, meaning 16 years and 226K miles old. Yikes!

Bad news: the water pump crapped the bed half a mile into my test drive. Sigh.
