A photo taken at the place of a former level crossing (today, an underpass replaces it) of a long train of three Desiro ML EMUs (probably repatriation) working a Local train to Ottignies which starts the climb to Rhisnes and then three views at my photo point on the banks of the river Sambre, and again a work train!

Well shit.

I don't usually post bad news (because many here already know it) and try to concentrate on positive things that we can do to effect change.

But this sucks and I want to scream into the void.

The Amtrak (America's only "national" passenger rail service - there are smaller regional rail services, some that even cross a couple of states, but Amtrak is the only one that really goes all across the nation) CEO was forced to resign.

The US has shitty rail service as it is, and Amtrak is often hampered by state governments that don't want passenger rail (they're paid off by car companies, airplane companies, even bus companies, and even even freight RAIL companies).

But this just means that passenger rail is going to suck even more in the US and the US regime installs a loyalist to the Amtrak CEO position.

Texas can say goodbye to their high-speed rail line from Dallas to Houston:

Hier, pour rentrer à Arlon, c'était une Coradia qui assurait le train L/RB. Impressions de la salle du bas de la voiture de tête et aussi 4 locos série 3000 garées dont la 3015 (troisième position) qui a déjà perdu ses logos propriétaires.

Yesterday, to come back to Arlon, it was a Coradia that worked the L/RB service. Impressions of the lower 2nd class interior in the front car. Also saw four Class 3000 stabled in the station. The 3015 (in third position) has already lost its owner logo.

Finalement, je me suis tenu à mon programme, reste la dernière partie, la lecture qui viendra après ce message.

Quelques photos ferroviaires faites lors de déplacements sur le terrain lors de ma formation en 2005 où en quelques jours, nous avions été voir de plus près diverses installations et procédures des réseaux étrangers limitrophes.

La gare de formation de Forest-Voitures est responsable pour les rames qui viennent garer depuis Bruxelles-Midi comme cet EuroNigt "Jan Kiepura" qui très brièvement (deux ans à peine) relia Bruxelles à Varsovie emmené par la locomotive polycourant de la série 16.

A Tournai, nous avions été voir les automotrices AM96 bi-courant (tranche 441-490) qui officient encore de nos jours sur les trains entre Tournai et Lille-Flandres. Ce fut aussi l'occasion de photographier deux diesel 77-78.

Enfin, nous avions été à Maastricht pour voir la procédure de départ des trains aux Pays-Bas et là, c'est un charmant petit locotracteur vert de Nedtrain que j'avais croisé.

I could make everything I had on my list today, reading comes after I have posted this message.

During my schooling, we did make a visit at every neighbours networks to see installations and processes in railway operations.

Forest-Voitures/Vorst-Rijtuigen is the yard responsible for all trains ending or starting from Brussels-Midi like the ephemere EuroNight 349 "Jan Kiepura" that joined for a short time Brussels with Warsaw worked by oldtimer Class 16 which was capable of operating under 4 different voltages.

In Tournai, we had a look at the dual voltage EMU Class AM 96 (Nrs. 441-490) which still operating trains to Lille-Flandres in 2025. I also could photograph two Diesel Locomotives Class 77-78.

Finally, we went also to Maastricht to see how trains depart in the Netherlands and I could photograph that nice green shunter from Nedtrain.
