#HobbyStreak day 666: Painted up a Death Guard.
Pro tip: let the primer set for 24 hrs or so before basecoat and streaking grime. I like the result, but the scratches visible in the third photo went down to the plastic.

Recipe: thin layers of a creamy off white airbrushed over white primer, followed by green, black, and dark bronze details. Slather in AK Streaking Grime, remove grime with white spirits and a brush or whatever.

And the squad leader is done! Someone is overcompensating…

The squad leader for the Salamander Adherents. He stands out from his peers by virtue of having a fancy topknot (red) and carrying a fuckhuge hammer. He still holds - somehow - a red combiflamer. Dude must be ripped under that black armor. The hammer is “molten” .

Continuing to practice volumetric highlights on black armor. I feel like I’ve improved a bit on this last fella - I wouldn’t say I’ve gotten the hang of it but I’ve “ruled out” some brushstrokes

I started building my Death Guard #HorusHeresy army tonight. Nothing fancy, just a couple of Tartaros terminators, and a Legion Praetor with combi-melta and chainfist.
I already started an Iron Warriors army last year, but I'm gonna just hold on to that for a while. Might make a smaller force just for funsies, since I already have IW bits and bodies, etc.

Last set of Adherent pics number 4 of 7.

I had decided to try my hand at brush volumetric highlights on the black armor. On the plus side: I have 100% discovered my limit as a mini painter.

Each set of armor is probably a good 3 hours, and the result does not show that time investment.

I think they look okay in person, but this is one hell of a hard technique to pull off. (Glare alone when painting makes it horribly hard)

...and building my own Reaver Titan. Next Mega-Battle I'll be able to throw down on equal footing.

#Salamanders #spacemarine rhino done - very happy that this is the third of three. Not my absolute favorite model but they’re kind of necessary in most armies. I could nitpick and find more to do on this thing but I’m happy enough with it and would rather move on.

After teaching myself NMM for a long time. This is what i ended up doing with TMMs. It has downsides, not looking super nice from every angle, but i like the effect.
Placing the sweet spot where it works from most probable viewpoints, does magic here.
