Today's campus birds started with a small group of three Bush Stone-curlews this morning, and then a family of ducks, some swamphen chicks and a Noisy Miner this afternoon.

A family of wood ducks on a concrete path. The father is at the rear, keeping watch in that direction, the mother on the right front, watching me, and four ducklings are huddled together in the middle having a snooze.

Either this family of Australian Wood Ducks had a late hatching, or have adopted a lost duckling, as one of the brood is a few weeks younger than the rest.

On the way to the carpark after work yesterday, I found a little family of ducklings.

A pair of very fluffy wood duck ducklings on mown grass. Both are facing right, walking, with heads down as they graze.
