Have this friend who is newish to #astrophotography here in Sydney. He did 40-hour mosaic on the Vela Supernova remnant in h-alpha/[O-III] …. And holy heck it is incomprehensibly magnificent! 
Those are exploded star gutz. At its heart is the Vela pulsar. 
Elfie is awesome and you should follow his recent immersion and obviously very good work in astrophotography.

Straight off the backyard telescope, I bring you the Spaghetti Nebula! This thing is so visually large that I had to stitch together two panels and it still doesn't quite fit. This beast is 3000 light years away, 160 light years wide, and thought to have formed 40,000 years ago when a neutron star went nova. Very cool!

Messier 1, also known as the #CrabNebula, is a #supernova remnant located in the constellation #Taurus, approximately 6,500 light-years away from Earth. The object reaches its annual culmination at astronomical midnight around December 16th.

It shows a supernova, is a massive explosion that occurs when a star reaches the end of its life, either by running out of fuel or by accumulating too much matter. It releases huge amounts of energy, sometimes outshining entire galaxies, and spreads elements like carbon and oxygen into space, which are vital for the formation of new stars and planets.
