Current status: Running a tail -f on all my web server access logs and adding bot user agents to my new master robots.txt file. Just out of spite. #WebDev
Hey #webdev bubble - can any of y'all recommend resources to learn about accessibility?
I'm aware of the WCAG guidelines as the "golden standard", but I'm looking for something more bite sized / approachable than 75 pages of raw paragraphs and rules
Boosts welcome!
Posting 2.5.3 is out, and reduces launch time by about 60%
I wrote a bit about it here - including some general Python and Textual tips for diagnosing and improving slow startups: https://darren.codes/posts/python-startup-time/
Fuck it. How DO you pronounce Nginx?
I'm seeing the first search results in Google, but I guess I need to optimize a little bit more (like add a description). Can I somehow preview Google Search results?
Since I use client-side rendering, I check on the server if it’s a bot and render a server-side one. For that, I use a template.

Try to discover all the entities in the biome. Once you have this knowledge, try to uncover them in the shortest amount of time!
I am once again faced with the bleak irony of people who install onto their computer some 5 or 10 apps via FlatPak or Docker, including VSCode, each installed with their own entire copies of Node.js and Electron.js (differing only in their minor revision number), while also complaining about Emacs being “bloated” because it ships with a miniature web browser and fully-featured e-mail client.
I've been writing a new personal site from scratch. It's been a while since I've done a site design entirely by hand, without any frameworks to lean on.
It's been a lot of fun, and I've been honing my html5 and css3 skills - trying to do everything the *right* way. Making use of some of the more esoteric CSS properties I'd never bothered with before (like margin-inline or padding-block) .
I've made all the graphics myself using #svg (thanks #inkscape!).
I'm focusing on having a *microscopic* footprint, with minimum connections (one markup, one stylesheet).
Took the #Vim (and #Neovim) syntax highlighting plugin for #Hurl (https://hurl.dev/) files from their repo's contrib/ directory and made it into an actual Vim package that can be installed by simply cloning the repo, or adding a submodule to your dotfiles, whatever.
this is it, folks! we are in the final week before submissions are due for GOOD INTERNET, a new print periodical magazine about all the things that make the #web fun: things like the #smallweb, the fediverse, the #indieweb, and efforts to actively fight #enshittification. submissions are open until MARCH 15.
check the submission guidelines or sign up for email alerts to be notified when we publish in may!

if this is your first time hearing about this, you still have enough time to come up with and write an article or complete a digital #art piece, if you're passionate about the #internet and want to write about it! :) bloggers, it's your time to shine!~
i can't wait to show y'all the incredible stories that have been submitted from all over the 'net, and some of the coolest art i've seen about the web!
thank you to everyone who's been so supportive of this project already. this is why this side of the internet is amazing.
thank you!

"I should design an accordion component–I think that'd be fun!"
- A legitimate thought I just had. I might be spending too much time on this

I overhauled my little link/microblog "Found; Not Lost" over at https://kaikuehne.net/found. I generally prefer light themes; especially this one I've made here. For the dark version, I tried inverting the light variant, but that didn't look good. Feedback welcome.
I'm going live making a weekly journal + task manager as a local web app using verdant. Come watch!
I can already see what this will lead to but uh, you can add gifs to inthebottle.co.uk now (real gifs, idk why I did that and not webp, dont make me justify it).
The animator is a little jank but it does the job.
