I love #languagelearning. I studied #German and #Spanish as a kid, took #Japanese in uni, and I'm currently studying #ASL #Cree #Tokipona #Spanish and #Chinese. I also dabble in #French and #Latin sometimes and I'm learning #Greggshorthand to write faster. Cree is my favourite language and Spanish is my second.

I've been cursed since childhood with that lovely trifecta of #heds #pots and #mcas. Healing slowly but surely.

Hope I get to meet even more cool people the algorithms would normally drown out on other social media sites. I love it here!

This colored pencil illustration was created for a poster for the storytelling festival in the Territoire de Belfort. The scene takes place at the treetops, revealing a dense canopy of leaves against a background of a sky filled with very light orange-tinged clouds, where foliage, trunks, and branches intertwine. At the center, a massive serpent with yellow and black-rimmed scales slithers through the jungle. Its piercing gaze is turned toward us, while several vibrant birds—including toucans, parrots, and small passerines—rest on its head and back. Three women, dressed in garments with plant-inspired patterns, move alongside it, perched on its body or sitting on a trunk.

Cette illustration aux crayons de couleur a été réalisée pour une affiche du festival de contes du territoire de Belfort. La scène se déroule à la cime des arbres, donnant un paysage foisonnant de feuille sur fond de ciel aux nuages orangé très clair, et où feuillages, de troncs et de branches s'enchevêtrent. Au centre, un immense serpent au corps couvert d’écailles jaunes cerclées de noir ondule à travers cette jungle. Son regard perçant se tourne vers nous, tandis que plusieurs oiseaux colorés, toucans, perroquets et passereaux, se posent sur sa tête et son dos. Trois femmes, vêtues de robes aux motifs végétaux, évoluent à ses côtés, perchées sur son corps ou assises sur un tronc.

"Ceramic stamps are found in Costa Rican burials, suggesting that their importance extended beyond utilitarian. Much speculation has been made with regard to the material that these stamps were intended to imprint, including paper, textiles, and the human body. The curved shape of the printing surface supports the function of body painting most strongly. This theory is reinforced by the presence of stamp motifs on Costa Rican ceramic figure sculpture. The designs of the stamps can be divided into two categories, those that mimic the geometricity of textile structure and those that do not. The frog stamp, with the angular lines of an amphibian, falls into the category of textile imagery, whereas the more fluid depiction of the serpent is derived from a more naturalistic source."

Normally these danger-noodles take off and I get an unsatisfactory shot of a departing tail

This one went past me while I was shooting birds in the undergrowth, and circled back. Several times it popped its head up to take a look over the grass

Trying not to stress it, I kept backing away, but it kept turning to follow, even flattening out to look bigger
